Expertise:
Functional analysis (proteomics and transcriptomic levels) related to the effects of mitochondrial dysfunction and uncoupling (pharmacology, mtDNA-depletion, cybrid cells). Investigations on mitochondrial activity alterations on calcium, ROS, mitochondrial biogenesis, cell signalling, sensitivity to induced-apoptosis in adipocytes and other cellular models.
Relevant projects and functions:
Prof. Arnould is funded by the RW (Wallonia Region Government), "Action de Recherche Concertée" (ARC) funded by the French-speaking community government, PAI (Federal Policy Ministry) and FNRS (Fonds National de la Recherche Scientifique) for the next three years for studying the effects of mitochondrial dysfunction on apoptosis sensitivity in cell culture models as well to better understand, at the molecular level, the role of mitochondrial dysfunction in differentiation and dedifferentiation of adipocytes.
