Expertise:
Links between mitochondrial and lipid metabolism in white adipose tissue, especially modulation of mitochondrial function in adipocytes and secretory functions of adipose tissue by n-3 LC PUFA; role of energy metabolism in white adipose tissue for obesity and insulin sensitivity.


Relevant projects and functions:
Member of two EU FP-6 integrated projects: EXGENESIS and EARNEST, focused on the role AMP-activated protein kinase in insulin sensitivity and metabolic syndrome, and lasting effects of early nutrition on health, respectively.
